The 5.0 Still Pushes Oil Vapor Through the Intake
Every F-150 catch can we build starts with the PCV system it's designed for, and the 5.0 V8 is no exception. Ford's 5.0L Coyote uses port and direct injection together on newer generations, so it gets some fuel wash across the intake valves that a pure direct-injection EcoBoost never sees.
The PCV system routes crankcase blow-by back through the intake tract under normal operation, and that vapor carries oil regardless of how the fuel enters the cylinder, making a 5.0 F-150 catch can a good call.
Our F-150 5.0 catch can is a single-valve, Plug N Play kit built for that specific application, located on the dirty side of the PCV line, where most oil vapor enters. It uses the same billet aluminum can and 4-stage diffuser as the kits in our full oil catch can collection, with stainless coalescing media scaled to what the 5.0's PCV volume requires. OEM ⅝-inch connectors and Continental braided hose connect directly to the factory ports, so there's no splicing or universal clamp work involved.
