Flaming River Manual Rack (fits 79-93 Mustang) FR1503

      These racks are designed for the 5.0L (79-93) Mustang (Also available for 94-04 Mustang -- non-Modular engines). These racks are ideal for road racing and other applications where a very responsive steering system is required.

9/16"-26 spline to 3/4" DD U Joint (FR-1709DD) required (not included) to adapt to OEM power steering shaft or to convert a Flaming River FR1504P power steering shaft to a manual rack. You can also upgrade to a complete chrome moly manual steering shaft with part number FR-1504M.

UPR Extreme or Maximum Bumpsteer Kits available to complete your steering rack. Extreme kit uses a tapered 4140 Chrome moly Steel shaft and 7075 Billet turnbuckle. Maximum kit uses a Grade 8 bolt (requires drilling out spindle arm) and 7075 Billet turnbuckle.

Steering Shaft/U-Joint:
If you need a complete steering shaft or need an adapter U-joint in order to adapt your stock shaft or making your own you can add it here.

Bumpsteer Kit:
Replacing your steering rack typically involves replacing your tie rods so you can adjust your bumpsteer. We offer both a stock style stud replacement that requires no drilling with our Extreme kit or we also offer the Maximum kit that replaces the stud with a grade 8 bolt but requires drilling your spindle to match the bolt.

Select Rack Bushings:
Select Standard or Offset Polyurethane rack bushings to go with your steering rack. Standard will keep rack in stock location. Offset bushings and raise or lower the rack for pan clearance or to correct steering geometry.
