2009 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT500 OVERVIEW



Introduced at the 2003 New York International Auto Show, the Ford Shelby GT500 is one of the most powerful Mustangs ever to roll off an assembly line. The combined forces of Carroll Shelby and the Ford Special Vehicles Team (SVT) created this high-performance Mustang variant that harkens back to the famed Shelbys of the late 1960s.



Horsepower is the name of the game with the GT500, and the 5.4L modular Supercharged V-8 engine was capable of an astounding 500 HP. Also standard on these beasts were the Tremec TR-6060 6-Speed manual transmission, suspension tuning, body kit, four-piston Brembo brakes and 18" wheels. And, just like the classic GT500s, it was produced in both coupe and convertible models.
